"Let’s Chat" Series, the continuing refQuest exploration into brain based learning

What’s the (Brain) Buzz? The “Let’s Chat” series of different topics is designed to address the varied interests of the community.  We hope everyone in the community will find something pertinent and relevant to their needs in this series. The series consists of the following conversations.

Community conversations on topics in Brain Compatible Learning
at the Mark Twain Library

September 7 9:30 AM Jodi Kass, Educational Director for Crown House Publishing will share insights from leading experts on the Brain Learning Basics, organizing your student to optimize learning in and out of the classroom
September 28 7:30 PM  Dr. Paul Miller will speak on the Interactive Metronome method for the treatment of a number of learning differences that can also be applied for the         augmentation of eye - hand coordination.  
October 16 2:30 PM Viewing of the film “Sometime in April”, a docudrama on the Rwandan genocide, followed by a panel discussion on Resiliency, the best within us in the face of the horror of genocide.  The panel will include a 24 year old Tutsi survivor of the Rwandan genocide, and a counselor on solutions to bulling.    
November 6 2:30 PM The Science of Happiness Note: this session has been cancelled
January 11 7:30 PM Dan Burstein, bestselling author of "The Secrets of the Code" series, exemplifies creativity thru his series on "The Secrets of; the Code, Angels and Demons" and "The Widow's Son".  
January 25 7:00 PM Robert Cook, Headmaster for the Harvey School's Upper School will be speaking on "The Teenage Brain".
